Functions and Responsibilities

  1. Encouraging students to work together along with the adults in rural areas.
  2. Develop a sense of social and civic responsibility among students & staff of CBIT.
  3. Work during emergencies and natural disaster situation.
  4. Encouraging youth to participate enthusiastically in the process of national development and promote national integration, through corporate living and cooperative action.
  5. Providing opportunities to the students to play their role in planning and executing development projects.

Objective

To create social awareness among students for the betterment of society through community service.

Standard Operating Procedure for NSS

  1. NSS events will be planned in association with other committees to decide the date, time and agenda of the programs by seeking permission and send the same to the IQAC for approval.
  2. To obtain formal permission from the College authorities to arrange programs.
  3. To inform members of staff and volunteers about the events.
  4. To prepare notice board displays, invitations, brochures, certificates, etc.
  5. To arrange the venue and logistics.
  6. The attendance record of the student volunteers to be maintained in the NSS office.
  7. At the end of the academic year the annual & action taken report are to be submitted to IQAC.

Minutes of meeting Procedure

  1. All meetings shall be convened by the chairperson/convener with prior notice to all committee members.
  2. Minutes of meeting will be noted down by the convener and same will be discussed with committee members.
  3. It is compulsory for the members to attend the meeting.
  4. Maintenance of necessary records of the committee in a file: Notice/Photos/Statistical data /Minutes of meeting/Prepare brief report on events.
  5. Meeting: The Committee should meet at least once in every semester.
  6. Quorum:The quorum for the meeting shall be two-thirds of the total number of members.
  7. Record Keeping: The agenda, minutes of meeting and Action Taken Reports are to be documented with official signatures and maintained in a register and electronically in a retrievable format (scanned copy).
  8. Reporting:A copy of the same will be submitted to the IQAC of the college for preparation of various reports of IQAC.
