The Department of Civil Engineering started in the year 2009 and it offers Bachelor degree in Engineering(B E) with an intake of 120 students. The students are trained by highly qualified and experienced teachers.
AICTE has granted permission to start Post Graduate program (M.Tech.) in “CAD Structures” under the Department of Civil Engineering from the academic year 2013 – 14 with an intake of 18 students.The course is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum.
Computer Aided Structural Engineering is an innovative program, focused on the combination of recent advances made in the field of structural engineering and computer science. This combination allows structural engineer the flexibility and freedom for a better understanding of structural behavior with material and geometric non-linearity and loading uncertainties.
The students join this program with a background in civil engineering. The course provides an excellent grounding in the fundamentals of structural engineering subjects. It also engages in a comprehensive study of computer science subjects such as programming, databases, graphics, visualization etc.
The program is specially designed to meet the demands of both industry and research establishments.
Eligibility: Students having Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or any other equivalent degree by securing not less than 50%marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations are eligible to join this program. However in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/Group1 aggregate percentage of marks in qualifying examination should not be less than 45%. The admissions are through central counseling on the basis of merit in PGCET or GATE. The candidates, who have qualified in the GATE examination, will be given priority and are eligible for scholarship through AICTE. A few seats are also available for sponsored and Management candidates.
